Just a quick update to keep everyone abreast of the goings on as we approach the Easter break.
We will be celebrating the 40th birthday of CAMRA on Wednesday 16th March at the Clifton Inn. We’re inviting along some local CAMRA members to help strengthen bridges and ensure that they know what we are about. Possibly more important for some of you, however, is the news that there will be a spread of food laid on by the society (as is traditional at a birthday party). Facebook event.
The following week, and back to our usual social night of Thursday, we will be hosting the UPRACS AGM. This will also be at the Clifton Inn, starting at 8pm, and will include the second half-yard competition of the year (so some free beer!) If you are interested in standing for a position on the committee, please ensure you turn up on the night and put your case forward – the society functions at its best with a committed committee…
The final week of term will see the last social before Easter. Details are yet to be confirmed, though it will likely be this year’s ‘cigar social’. Following the success of the gin distillery tour, I hope that this will be popular also.
Finally… Some of you may have noticed that the raffle has yet to be drawn… Do not fear, we haven’t forgotten, and the draw will be taking place at the AGM when we hope the winners will be there in person to receive their prizes.
We all hope to see you in the run up to Easter. As always, please bring friends, family, pets etc, as the socials are always that little bit better with a good turn out.
